Our Story
Yalla Mangrove is a local youth-led initiative based in UAE but with planting partnerships across the globe. We believe that the climate crisis is real and will likely to affect everyone's life. Unfortunately we are not prepared for it at all. We firmly believe that the active participation of our youth is very critical in addressing the twin challenges of both climate change and biodiversity loss. These issues will undoubtedly have long-lasting impacts on our future. Hence, we had decided to launch this initiative online to raise awareness and to take head on the twin challenge of loss of biodiversity and climate change in UAE and globally.
Why Yalla Mangroves?
Yalla is an arabic word and commonly used across the region.We have grown up in the Middle East hearing this word more than any other Arabic word spoken by both Arab and non Arab speakers alike. Yalla means ‘lets go’ or ‘lets do it’. As the twin challenge of climate change along with loss of biodiversity cant be tackled by any one indiviual, organization or a country alone rather it requires a consistent collective efforts by all the community members at the grass root level to make an everyday change in our ways of living for our next generations, we thought there is no better word than Yalla Mangroves to launch this initiative.
Our Vision
Our vision is to be the leading digital mangrove gifting platform providing easy and cost effective solutions to individuals and businesses globally to facilitate the planting of mangroves. Yalla Mangroves aims to allow users to gift someone through a digital certificate while doing social good through planting mangroves and integrating it into our everyday lives.
You can plant mangroves with just a few clicks on our website or through our app. Individuals can gift them to celebrate festivals, birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions using our digital certificates while corporations can use us for gifting their employees, customers or even part of their CSR programs. You can send several e-greetings at once, plan auto greetings on a pre-specified future dates, open your family or organizational Mangrove Forest, view gifting history and set up alerts.
